Nepal – Itinerary
Day 1: Home – KATHMANDU flight
Day 2: Arrival in Kathmandu
After arrival, transfer to the hotel.In the late afternoon, first visit to the stupa, which we will circumambulate together with Tibetan Buddhists. Overnight in Boudhanath.
Day 3: KATHMANDU (UNESCO World Heritage)
After breakfast, we visit Swayambhunath. Here we observe devoted worshippers, visit Moti Gumba, enjoy salted butter tea with resident monks, and participate in morning prayers.Next, visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the late afternoon, visit Pashupatinath to witness the impressive evening ceremony. Overnight in Boudhanath.
Day 4: BOUDHANATH
Attend morning prayers at one of the monasteries. Later, receive a blessing from a high Lama in a ceremony and have the opportunity to ask questions about life and spirituality. Afterwards, visit the Kunfen Tibetan Medical Center, meet local doctors, and learn about the ancient Tibetan medicine based on Ayurvedic principles. Overnight in Boudhanath.
Day 5: LUBU AND PATAN
In Lubu, we visit a local community school supported by Basanta Adventure. We meet the children and teachers and have the opportunity to interact. The children will present a self-prepared cultural program, followed by a simple, traditional lunch.
Next, visit a fair-trade handicraft center supporting local women.Then explore Patan (Lalitpur), the city of art, including Patan Durbar Square. Observe local artisans at work creating their masterpieces. Overnight in Boudhanath.
Day 6: KATHMANDU – DHULIKHEL
After breakfast, drive northeast of Kathmandu. In this scenic area, enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas and surrounding hills.
Overnight in Dhulikhel.
Day 7: DHULIKHEL – NAMOBUDDHA – DHULIKHEL
Day hike to the famous Namobuddha Shrine. Legend has it that a prince once sacrificed himself to a starving tigress and her cubs. His remains are said to be buried here, and he was later sanctified as a Buddha. The site is an important pilgrimage location and is beautifully situated on the hill of Dhulikhel. On clear days, enjoy breathtaking views. Visit the nearby monasteries as well.After a picnic lunch, return to the hotel. Overnight in Dhulikhel.
Day 8: DHULIKHEL – CHANGU NARAYAN – Hike to NAGARKOT
After breakfast, visit Changu Narayan Temple, one of the oldest temples in the valley. Hike at a comfortable pace along terraced fields and through the village of Telkot.From there, transfer to Nagarkot, one of the highest viewpoints in the area, known for spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Overnight in Nagarkot.
Day 9: NAGARKOT – BHAKTAPUR – UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Enjoy sunrise together, then drive to Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and our hotel is located right next to the old town. Later, take a guided tour of Bhaktapur: Visit Bhaktapur Museum, admire the famous Newari wood carvings, 55 Windows, the Peacock Window, Dattatraya Temple, Sidha Pokhari, Bhairav Temple, and Pottery Square.
Overnight in Bhaktapur.
Day 10: BHAKTAPUR – BRIGAND’S BEND – Village CHEPANG (Short Hike)
After breakfast, drive three hours through scenic landscapes to Brigand’s Bend, a hidden paradise on the Trisuli River. The lodge offers stunning views, a swimming pool, and a warmer climate due to lower altitude and proximity to the river. A two-hour hike to visit the Chepang Simi nomads, who now live in villages along the Trisuli River, is included. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 11: KURINTAR – CHITWAN (approx. 130 km / 3 hrs)
After breakfast, proceed to Chitwan National Park. A park staff member will introduce us to the work and principles of the park. Depending on conditions, we explore the wildlife and natural environment. Overnight at the lodge (full board).
Day 12: CHITWAN NP – VILLAGE OF THARU
A full day of exciting activities:
- Guided safari
- Elephant ride
- Canoe trip
- Jungle walk
- Wildlife and bird watching
A cultural evening performance by the Tharu community completes the day. Overnight in Chitwan (full board).
Day 13: CHITWAN NP – BANDIPUR (approx. 200 km / 3.5 hrs)
After the morning program in Chitwan, drive to Bandipur Heritage Village, one of the oldest trade villages on the route between India and Tibet. Today, it is a typical Newari village, known for its rich cultural heritage and way of life. Overnight in a hotel among local houses, providing a close-up experience of daily life. On clear days, enjoy magnificent views of the High Himalayas.

Day 14: BANDIPUR – POKHARA (approx. 70 km / 2 hrs)
Continue to Pokhara, the famous lake city at the edge of the Annapurna massif. After checking in, enjoy a walk along the lakeside and some free time to settle in. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 15: POKHARA
Visits include:
- International Mountain Museum
- Gorkha Museum
- Tibetan refugee camp
- Devi’s Fall
- Walk along the lakeshore
Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 16: FLIGHT POKHARA – KATHMANDU
Transfer to the local airport and enjoy a scenic flight back to Kathmandu. In the afternoon, visit an eco-farm and attend a talk by a renowned agriculture expert.Participate in harvesting vegetables and cooking your own meal.Return to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 17: KATHMANDU – Back home
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the international airport for your return flight. Journey ends!
